Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball

July 4th and 5th 2014

The LabyrinthMasquerade Ball is based on Venetian tradition, Celtic faerie and goblin lore, and stories of fantasy and wonder. Lost within the borders of chaos and light, nobles dance among the Fey while goblins wait with hungry eyes in the wings of their court. Some of the most amazing fantasy artists, costumers and special effects crews participate in bringing a diverse host of creatures and mythologies alive each year.
This Masquerade is one of the few classical events open to ANYONE who has dreamed of a surrealistic fantasy fading into a single night of dance and revelry. Music and visuals heighten your senses as the night shields the Goblin Court and the chambers surrounding it. . . Celebrating our fourteenth masquerade and pooling together all that we've learned, the artists of Sypher Studios continue to proudly offer this night to those with the imagination and heart to enjoy it.

The Conductor walks around the room and manipulates the shadows and inks on the walls to convey several stories and the shadows and inks form into people, things and “other creatures” pop up, all at the Conductor’s whim. At least they are at the Conductor’s whim until the inks and shadows start acting on their own and that’s when the most interesting things tend to happen…

Projected on an array of new screens surrounding the BP Pavilion, the Obscurita Video installation will be a feast of creatures and shadows, flowing from one screen to another. Largely practical effects will be used to capture the flow of tides and tendrils from one screen to another, flanking the host, “The Conductor,” on the stage and submerging the audience in a visual treat.

As an homage to Tim Burton exhibition which ends on Halloween, this video art installation, Obscurita, the most ambitious video project that Sypher Arts Studios has created, will debut at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) Muse Halloween party.

For one night only in L.A.’s legendary Park Plaza Hotel, return to the glamour, big bands, cocktails, dance, and utter charm of a bygone era.

Let club owner Stag Jones and his bevy of broads lead you through a whirlwind evening from a gilded patio featuring live performances, cocktails, cigars, and treats to the gorgeous Grand Ballroom, where an eighteen-piece orchestra just won’t quit. Downstairs, VIP Big Daddies and Leading Ladies nestle into the hotel’s speakeasy for burlesque, hosted cocktails, and untold sultry surprises. When the clock strikes midnight, we’ll throw open the windows for a champagne toast — that’s when the evening really gets going.
